Taos, New Mexico — January, 2008
![]() Casa De Cuentos which means "House of Stories" is a cozy and warm adobe home located just outside of Taos, New Mexico. You could feel its positive vibes as soon as you walked in the front door. Cooper especially liked it. |
![]() From the kiva fireplace... |
![]() ...to the steamy hot tub, nothing could have been better on a snowy, wintery day or night. |
![]() ![]() The views from inside and outside the authentic adobe home were magnificent. |
![]() We took a short drive to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. The bridge is a cantilever truss bridge, the second highest in the United States, with a span of 1280 feet (two 300 foot-long approach spans with a 600 foot-long main center span) across the Rio Grande Gorge which runs 650 feet below. |
![]() We also went on several hikes. Here is Cooper with his new shoes and coat on. He is thinking "my mommy dresses me funny", but he sure was warmer. |
![]() It was James' fifty-something birthday so we had brought with us two lemons from our lemon tree back home in Austin. |
![]() We celebrated by making the best ever lemon Chiffon pie...yum yum.. |
![]() We went on more hikes |
![]() Here James said "NO MORE" I have to rest, remember I am a year older now!! |
![]() ![]() Back at the casa, we played lots of pool, read lots of books, did a little work and... |
![]() ![]() saw lots of native wild life! |
![]() Again the sun has set on another vacation, but our minds and bodies are filled with all the magic and stories of Casa de Cuentos. |
